Apartment Style Condos

An apartment condo, or other multiple-unit complex, the units of which are individually owned, each owner receiving a recordable deed to the individual unit purchased, including the right to sell, mortgage, etc., that unit and sharing in joint ownership of any common grounds, passageways, etc. Condos are often thought of as great starter homes and great homes for empty nesters, but there are a lot of reasons why people at all stages of life might want to consider living in a condominium. There are many pros of living in a condo which include: They offer a turnkey lifestyle and you won’t be responsible for any maintenance outside of your own unit. They also often have access to onsite amenities like gyms and pools. The cons are: You’ll have less privacy than you would in a house because you share common elements. Your renovation options are limited and you would have to pay condo fees on top of mortgage payments and property tax. You’ll also face possible restrictions on things like parking and pets. Condos are not likely to rise in value as much as a comparable house might.

Townhouses

Townhouses differ from apartment style condominiums in that townhomes allow for ownership in the land on which they are built (bare-land).
